GMCH-32 strengthened with three healthcare facilities in Chandigarh
Chandigarh boosts healthcare at GMCH-32 with launch of three new facilities
Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, in Chandigarh has seen the inauguration of three new healthcare facilities. The UT administrator, Banwarilal Purohit, played a key role in launching these advanced healthcare services. Among the facilities unveiled were a Cobalt Therapy Unit and an Evidence-Based Millet Clinic.
The Cobalt Therapy Unit in Block D utilizes gamma rays from a radioactive isotope called Cobalt-60. This method has a history of effectively treating cancer patients, and it remains a cost-effective and efficient option, especially in areas where advanced radiation therapy is not readily available.
Promoting healthy millet consumption
The Evidence-Based Millet Clinic, situated in Block B on Level 1, focuses on promoting the consumption and benefits of millets. Millets are highly nutritious grains with many health advantages.
